Benefits Of A Good Workout Routine

So, up until last week Wed. I had spent at least 4 days a week at the gym doing cardio, some light lifting, etc.  I had kept this up for about 3 weeks until I had to stop do to starting to feel the pain in my left leg…a strained muscle.  So I ended up taking 5 days off of the gym with only 1 or 2 short walks to keep the blood moving in my legs.

Anyway, why do I bring this up?  Well we all see the gym as something that will help keep you in shape, or help get you there, however many of us may just feel the dread that comes with even thinking about it.  I know I did.  Well, there is another benefit to the gym, and that’s the good feeling it brings.  I noticed over the last few 5 days how my good feelings that I had been feeling quickly started going away.  I started feeling down, tired and much less energy.  Well today after a good workout I can feel the good feelings starting to come back again.

So, don’t just think of the gym as something to dread, or something that hurts.  Think of it instead as something that brings good feelings and better mood and happiness.

Week 3 Weigh In

Well, today marks the 3 week point since I started this whole thing.  When I started this whole thing I was at 265, the heaviest I have ever been in my life.  I am happy to say that with today’s weigh in, I am down to 249.8lbs  This is an awesome feeling!

Another Method…

So, over the last few years I have been fighting to try and find a program that works for me to lose weight.  It has not been pretty, or easy and I have had more failures than I care to count.  Well, I decided to try this whole Nutrisystem thing and drop a lot of weight before I try going back on P90X.

I had gotten up to 265lbs….the most I have ever been, and it was just disgusting to me.  It was depressing, and it was sort of a black whole…seemed I just couldn’t escape it.  Well I have been on Nutrisystem for 3 weeks now, and I am down to 250…so this thing is actually working.  Unfortunately I have having withdrawals and cravings for those oh so tasty, but horrible for you foods.  These are cravings that rival the cravings I had when I quit smoking.  I am holding on though and have stuck to the plan almost 100%.  There has been 1 day when I had a few drinks…just a couple Captain and Diets…so it wasn’t so bad.

Anyway, I’m hanging in there and hopefully will be keeping this updated.  The plan is to get down to about 190lbs…and then switch over to the P90X program again.

So, here is a picture of how bad I had let myself get…this is day #3 of Nutrisystem…I will update pictures monthly.
